| 授業概要 |
The main aim of this subject is to acquire the basic knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various reading activities and discussions on the related issues. All the activities will be conducted basically in English. Active participation and commitment will be much appreciated. |
| 到達目標 |
Through various language activities, the registered students are supposed to acquire:\n①a good vocabulary and basic knowledge of SDGs,\n②well-balanced four language skills for communication. |
| スキルの育成方法 |
The students are expected to acquire the basic knowledge of SDGs through reading the text materials both intensively and extensively. Along with the main textbook, TOEIC L&R Sample Test will be used to brush up the students' practical reading and listening abilities. |

Getting the gist of the passage and answering the questions will be enough (approx. 60 min).\nReviewing is also very important. Reading the text aloud is recommended as well (approx. 60 min). |

| 成績評価基準 |
Your grade will consist of three components of evaluation: ①participation and commitment (20%), ②wrap-up test (50%), and ③assignments(30%) . |

Although the main skill used in this subject is reading, you will use the other skills such as listening, speaking and writing as well during the class. You are not supposed to translate the English text into Japanese so much, but are suppose to paraphrase them or explain in your own words in English instead, to be checked how much you understand what is said in the text. Please don't be afraid of making mistakes while using English, because it should not affect your grade at all.
